Small Ceramic Prep Bowl Set

These sweet little earthenware clay prep bowls measure 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. They are perfect for so many things like tapas bowls, sauces, nuts, candies or even small soaps and jewelry. I made these without the benefit of a wheel, so their slight irregularities make them truly one of a kind pieces. Lead free purple glaze was used to finish the bowls making them food safe.

Small Sgraffito Ceramic Prep Bowl Set

These sweet little earthenware clay prep bowls measure 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. They are perfect for so many things like tapas bowls, sauces, nuts, candies or even small soaps and jewelry. Jo made these without the benefit of a wheel, so their slight imperfections make them truly one of a kind pieces. She has sgraffito'd, carved into the clay, a floral design in to the bottom of each bowl.

Lead free pale green and black underglaze, and lead free clear overglaze was used to finish the bowls making them food safe.

Three Graces Ceramic Cameo Adjustable Rings

We have just added the "Three Graces" ceramic cameo rings above to our Etsy shop.  We have been collecting vintage and antique cameos for some time and have made some stunning molds from them to use in our "Good Dirt Jewelry" earthenware clay jewelry collection.

White earthenware clay and various glazes were used to create these beautiful "Three Graces" ceramic cameo rings. The ceramic cameos have been set into gorgeous adjustable gold plated rings.

Ceramic Mayan Sun Pendant with Turquoise

Jo made this Mayan sun pendant from earthenware clay. It has been fired with a chili pepper red glaze. Each pendant comes out of the kiln with it's own unique color properties. The necklace measures 16 inches and has been beaded with turquoise and has a barrel clasp closure.  This necklace is a perfect everyday piece, or could be dressed up by layering it with other longer necklaces.  An additional photo can be seen here.

A gift box is included with every order from Grizzly Mountain Arts.

Hard Maple and Ceramic Support Spinning Bowl with Pyrography

Our originally designed support spinning bowl combines the efficiency of a ceramic surface with the stability of a wide beautiful wooden base. The icy blue ceramic insert measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the gorgeous hard maple wood base is 3 inches in diameter. Dave has adorned this bowl with one of his signature leaf motifs. Cork has been added to the bottom of this bowl to keep the wood from scratching other hard surfaces.  Additional photos can be found in our Etsy shop.

Blue Grotto Ceramic Support Spinning Bowl

The glaze on this gorgeous support spinning bowl is called "Blue Grotto", and the various blues and browns of this glaze are amazing. We have been getting great feedback on our ceramic bowls! Support spinners are loving Dave's original wide base bowl design and the super fast glazed surface.

Ceramic Support Spinning Bowl

This beautiful blue support spinning bowl measures 3 inches in diameter across the bottom with a recessed well to support the spindle on top. We are making our support spinning bowls in a variety of glazes and no two pieces ever come out of the kiln the same. This earthy blue support bowl is one of my favorites and can be found in our Grizzly Mountain Arts Etsy Shop.

Ceramic and Walnut Lap Support Spinning Bowl

This ceramic bowl measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the walnut base is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches in length. "Monet's Garden" is the glaze that was used on the earthenware clay inner bowl. Felt dots on the bottom keep the wood from scratching your chair. More photos of this beautiful tool can be found at the listing in our Etsy shop.

Tibetan Mala Bead Scissor Fob

Jo has made this 5 1/4" long scissor fob from an assortment of rich, organic looking beads. The largest bead is from a Tibetan Buddhist prayer mala. This mala bead is made from Yak bone which has been dyed a deep red and inlayed with turquoise and coral chips. It is surrounded by an assortment of other carved bone beads. The three dangles are made from tiny African clay beads, turquoise tubes and garnets. The remainder of the fob is strung with carved bone, turquoise and garnets. An additional photo can be found at the Ebay auction listing.

Handcrafted Walnut Tatting Shuttle with Inlayed Ceramic Cameo

Dave handcrafted this 2 ¾ inch shuttle out of Walnut. Jo, Good Dirt Jewelry, made this kiln fired ceramic cameo of the Three Muses (or Three Graces) with a pink glaze for me to inset into the shuttle. The burn etched motif is one of Dave's favorites because it looks so classical and also makes the shuttle look like a little musical instrument. This shuttle has a hand rubbed bees wax satin finish. This shuttle has been initialed and dated by Dave. An additional photo may be viewed at the Ebay auction for this piece.

Bisque Hitty Doll Head for Soft Body Doll or Pin Cushion

This earthenware clay Hitty doll head has been sitting on Dave's work table looking at him (and me!) for too long now and it’s time she found another home!

We like to play around with our little kiln so Dave made this glaze fired Hitty head with the best intention of making a Hitty pin cushion or soft body doll, but it seems we never have the time. I think that someone else with more talent and time could make good use of her. The head size is scaled for a 6 1/4 inch doll.

Hitty's head is currently up for auction on Ebay. Please help her find a body! :)

Friday

Handmade Earthenware Pin Cushions

We hand make these little 1 ½ inch diameter pin wheel cushions out of white earthenware clay with a felt disc sandwiched between. This one, which is currently up for auction on Ebay, has been relief carved, on one side, and glaze fired with brilliant cobalt blue.

Cobalt Blue Earthenware Pin Cushion Auction

We also have another ceramic pin cushion for sale in our Grizzly Mountain Arts Etsy.com shop. This one has a Celtic fish motif carved on one side and has been glazed to give it an old, distressed look.

The Overflowing Cup

Jo created "The Overflowing Cup" from earthenware clay. It measures about 1 3/4" in length and 1" in width. It has been accented with a brass bead. The cord is a wonderful faux suede material that doesn't "shed" on your clothes like real suede does and is very easy to tie so your pendant can compliment any neckline. If faux suede is not your favorite material and you prefer to wear your pendant on a chain, you can easily remove it.

This earthenware pendant is one of six new pendants added today to our Grizzly Mountain Arts Etsy.com shop.

New Ceramic Basket Embellishments Added to Our Cache

We have the best customers in the world! I hope each and every one of you knows how much we appreciate your loyal patronage of our work!

We awoke this morning, to find that a wonderful customer had purchased our entire selection of ceramic basket embellishments! As a result, you will now find a fresh batch of ceramic centerpieces in our "Grizzly Mountain Cache" Etsy shop. We are considering putting some of our "seconds" in the Cache for use by mosaic artists. If you've ever fired clay, you know how aggravating it is to find small holes filled with glaze. Those are nearly impossible to clear without breaking, so you end up with a piece that's only good for smashing into a mosaic supply.

Basket Embellishments Added to the Cache

We've just added a new item to our "Grizzly Mountain Cache" Etsy shop--handmade ceramic basket embellishments!

All of our ceramic centerpieces were made by Jo. We use them in our basketry for lid centerpieces and bottoms of plates and bowls.

If you would like to see our new items, please click the link below. We hope to be adding more basket embellishments in the future.
