Small Sgraffito Ceramic Prep Bowl Set

These sweet little earthenware clay prep bowls measure 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. They are perfect for so many things like tapas bowls, sauces, nuts, candies or even small soaps and jewelry. Jo made these without the benefit of a wheel, so their slight imperfections make them truly one of a kind pieces. She has sgraffito'd, carved into the clay, a floral design in to the bottom of each bowl.

Lead free pale green and black underglaze, and lead free clear overglaze was used to finish the bowls making them food safe.

Shipping is free for our customers in the U. S. and Canada.

It's been a long time since we added a new item to our portfolio, so we are very excited to show our newest pieces.  Our sweet little trinket dishes are perfect for so many things!  Rings, pins, votive candles or even as small prep dishes.  We created each dish by hand from earthenware clay, and glazed each dish with lead free glaze.  These little beauties measure a little over 2 1/2 inches in diameter, and about 1/2 inch in depth.  Each dish has been signed, and will be shipped in a gift box.  Be sure and stop by our Etsy shop to view more photos of these adorable little bowls.

Ambrosia Maple Support Spinning Bowls

Our originally designed support spinning bowls combine the efficiency of a ceramic surface with the stability of a wide beautiful wooden base. The ceramic insert measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the gorgeous twice turned ambrosia maple base is 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height. Cork has been added to the bottom of this bowl to keep the wood from scratching other hard surfaces.

**What is twice turned wood?**

Some of the woods that Dave uses, such as this ambrosia maple, can only be found green or "wet".  Green or "wet" wood has to be dried before it is used, otherwise the finished project would warp, crack or check.  Since Dave doesn't have a wood kiln to dry these woods, he cuts the wood to size and turns it once to get the desired shape.  He then sets it aside for months to allow the moisture to escape.  Once he has determined that all of the moisture is gone, he then turns the piece again which results in the finished project.

Ceramic Art Nouveau Pendant with Shell

Jo bought the most beautiful antique Art Nouveau era pewter button a while back, and with that button she made the mold for this piece. The nearly 1 inch diameter earthenware ceramic pendant has been glazed a gorgeous baroque gold color. The multi-colored shell necklace measures 16 inches long, and has a barrel clasp closure.  This is a perfect everyday piece, or could be dressed up by layering it with other longer necklaces.  An additional photo can be seen here.

A gift box is included with every order from Grizzly Mountain Arts.

Ceramic Mayan Sun Pendant with Turquoise

Jo made this Mayan sun pendant from earthenware clay. It has been fired with a chili pepper red glaze. Each pendant comes out of the kiln with it's own unique color properties. The necklace measures 16 inches and has been beaded with turquoise and has a barrel clasp closure.  This necklace is a perfect everyday piece, or could be dressed up by layering it with other longer necklaces.  An additional photo can be seen here.

A gift box is included with every order from Grizzly Mountain Arts.

Hawaiian Koa and Ceramic Support Spinning Bowl

This beautiful support spinning bowl has been crafted from Hawaiian koa. The ceramic insert was glazed with "Blue Grotto". You can find this spindle bowl in our Etsy shop.

~More About Koa~

The Acacia koa tree, is a species of flowering tree in the pea family found mainly on the Hawaiian islands, where it is the second most common tree. Its name in the Hawaiian language means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior. Koa is one of the fastest growing Hawaiian trees capable of reaching 20-30 feet in five years and was used by the Hawaiian natives to make outrigger canoes and surfboards. Being a tonewood, koa is often used in the construction of ukuleles, acoustic guitars and Hawaiian steel guitars.
