Four new lap support spindle bowls were listed in our Etsy shop today. The lighter wood bowls were crafted from silver maple, and the other bowls are African mahogany. All of these spinning bowls feature our dimpled ceramic inserts.

New Lap Support Spindle Bowls
African mahogany, birdseye maple, silver maple and Oregon myrtlewood are the woods Dave used to craft the lap support spinning bowls above. The earthenware ceramic inserts have been adorned by hand and kiln fired. Please visit our Etsy shop to view these and other fine handcrafted fiber art tools.

Ceramic and Birdseye Maple Lap Support Spinning Bowl
Dave has crafted this beautiful lap support spinning bowl from birdseye maple. The ceramic bowl measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the maple base is approximately 3 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches in length. The ceramic spinning bowl inserts were decorated by hand with accent glazes and kiln fired. Cork dots on the bottom keep the wood from scratching your chair.
New Support Spinning Bowls
We have added several new support spinning bowls to our Etsy shop. The spindle bowls above, were crafted from jatoba, silver maple and figured maple. The ceramic spinning bowl inserts were decorated by hand with accent glazes and kiln fired. The lap support spinning bowls below, were crafted from figured maple, walnut and silver maple.

The spindle bowls above, were crafted from figured maple, and the lap support spindle bowls below were made from ambrosia maple. Ceramic and Myrtlewood Lap Support Spinning Bowl with Pyrography
Dave has crafted this beautiful lap support spinning bowl from myrtlewood and has adorned it with his signature pyrographed leaf motif. The ceramic bowl measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the myrtlewood base is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches in length. "Eternal Galaxy" is the glaze that was used on the earthenware clay inner bowl. Cork dots on the bottom keep the wood from scratching your chair.
Walnut Russian Support Spindle with Matching Lap Bowl
This beautiful set was a recent commission. The Russian support spindle features mammoth ivory inlay and it's companion lap bowl features detailed checkering and a ceramic insert.

Walnut Support Spinning Bowls
These are two of our newest support spinning bowls. The lap support spinning bowl seen above was a commissioned piece, and the smaller support spinning bowl is currently for sale in our Etsy shop. Both bowls were created from walnut and have an earthenware clay insert. The ceramic inserts have been glazed with "Monet's Garden" which contains beautiful cobalt blues, greens, white and yellow.

Ceramic and Oregon Myrtlewood Lap Support Spinning Bowl
This ceramic bowl measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the Oregon myrtlewood base is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 3/4 inches in length. Purple glaze was used on the earthenware clay inner bowl. No two pieces ever come out of the kiln the same. Additional photos can be found in our Etsy shop.
